The things I'll never know

1. Why I've come to feel like even more of a foreigner here this year than I ever have before.

2. How overtones become undertones. And the opposite.

3. Why violet ice cream tastes so amazing and lavender ice cream tastes like soap.

4. Why it's so hard to do things that are good for you and so easy to do things that are not.

What will you never know?

Please, no politics.

Why some people just can't be bothered to return their shopping carts.

Can I add to your list. . .why when my children get sick I become a paranoid neurotic (sp) mommy.
Violet ice cream. . .never had it - I must try it!

Lorraine - which is why you have to put a coin in the handle to get one here, which is returned when you put the cart back where it belongs.

Beth - That's just a mom thing. We're all like that. Yes, try that ice cream. It's sooooooo good.

I am snickering bc I feel the same way about the ice cream, except for me it's the lavender that is yummy and the violet I can't support!

How long have you been here and how long are you staying? (there are studies on culture shock that have it do a mini-peak/resurgence in a certain time period before you're leaving. I know that every other year when we go to the states, France gets on my nerves for about the month before we leave..)
