Fire or smoke?

This is a magical time of year for me. The season of my birthday, the season for taking stock and deciding what I'll bring down to the cellar that is my winter. Actually, fall and winter are my favorite seasons. The days are short, the nights are cold, twilight is heavyhanded and magic is in the air. At least it is for me. I know there are those of you who feel it in the spring and summer, seasons I can only survive, at best.

A long time ago, I had an alchemist's dream. I was very young, I didn't even know what an alchemist was at the time. But it was a very striking dream and I've always treasured it. I didn't analyse it, why bother. But I did wonder about it.

And then there's the whole princess thing. I'm not claiming any past life experience, this life is certainly enough, but there are some medieval themes floating around. Oh, like that street I was on this summer in Concarneau. Anyway.

Magical does not necessarily mean easy. On the contrary, I'd even say. Dragons abound. Speaking of, I'd like to know, what's in the belly of your dragon?

The unknown (i.e. death)

"If a man knows he's a hero, he can always find a dragon to fight, even if the dragon is asleep and minding its own business" (Anon)

Personally, I have no truck with dragons unless it is to save a damsel in distress.

In thinking about this you are suggesting that dragons are bad things, I don't agree. There is nothing wrong with a few dragons in someone life. Demons on the other hand are a different story.

Zeb - Yes, beyond words.

Beth - Interesting.

Charlie - Nor do I.

Zeb - I'm not, I'm just saying their bellies are important.

Holy smokes. I haven't looked at your blog in ages and there was my name. At first I thought you were talking about some other sister with my name but it is me you were referring too. Of all the days to look at your blog - such a non-coincidence!
I hope I didn't scare you away after our heavy conversation in San Francisco!! Now that I am back in Seattle I wish you were here - it isn't the same place as it was for me in 90-93... of course. What are your favorite cafes - I feel like I am starting from scratch. Love from your shadow sis - Tanya

Nicole - happy birthday season. :) I'm not a big fan of winter, but fall is really a wonderful time of year, isn't it? I like winter when there is a lot of crisp, clean snow on the ground, the sun is out, and the sky is as blue as Paul Newman's eyes. Sadly, where I live, it's usually wet, soggy, gray, slippery, and dank. I think that's why I am not a big fan.

You've started me pondering my dragon. When I come up with an answer, I'll let you know.

One of my dragons is jealousy. Although I find he responds well to applesauce cake.

Tanya - No! I loved that dinner. My favorite café was Vivace but not for the cafe just for the coffee.

Gina - Thank you. Dank is bad.

Lorraine - Everyone responds well to applesauce cake.
