Hurting in advance

a.k.a. borrowing trouble

I've given up coffee and chocolate. I'm done. I've had it.

I've abused both to such an extent that my heart and liver are protesting in really obvious and irritating ways.

Fine. Whatever.

But thinking about the headache I'm going to have tomorrow is worse than the headache I'll actually have tomorrow.

I know this. And yet, here I am, borrowing trouble.

So here's my question: What kind of trouble have you been borrowing lately?

There just isn't enough space on your blog for that!
I will try to mentally send you my dislike for coffee so maybe your withdrawl won't be so bad. The giving up chocolate just isn't an option for me.

You have a wonderful sense of humor and I am enjoying your blog. I recently went through a heartbreak (actually am still in it), and my worry (the borrowing trouble bit) has been that I have let my imagination run so far ahead as to fear how poorly I would handle an actual divorce. I think I am getting a little ahead of myself on this one... :) don't ya think!?

Okay. When my liver protests, it's because I've been drinking too much wine.

But I've inadvertently given up caffeine on occasion, and hoo-boy. That was a killer headache.

Oh yeah, you asked a question. I've been borrowing all kinds of trouble lately. I tend to feel the heartache before it happens, and even if it doesn't happen. I could go on and on...

Dont you think IN-PATIENT care would be better than giving up coffee AND chocolate? I mean, that's a HUGE sign of SERIOUS mental illness!

you gave up coffee, how about just cutting down. If you are really stopping you should taper then go cold turkey. Based on how much I know you drink you will be sick for days.

I pitty the boys and husband.

Christina - Nice vote of confidence.

Beth - Ha!

Suz - Thank you - and thanks for commenting. You know how I feel about those. Re your trouble, borrowed or otherwise, my sympathies.

Alison - With shoes like those, you won't need to borrow trouble, it'll come looking for you.

Doc - Doc, would you please stop blowing my cover?

Zeb - Did I also mention I have wicked pms this week too?

Lorraine - Thank you. have you ever given up coffee? I'm actually hoping I'll be able to, after a brief period of zero coffee, stick to a one cup a day kind of thing. I just always let it get so out of hand.
